Alloy Wheel sizes

I know this topic has probably been done to death but I can't find a definitive answer through searching.
With my tyres coming up for renewal in the next couple of months I want to take the opportunity to upgrade my wheels but as cheaply as possible hence I want to try Ebay etc to find some. Question is what size do I need?
Will all 4 stud Ford patterns fit?
I want to keep the nose down stance so will be looking to move to 16" front and 17" rear, what width, offset etc do I need to find and what size tyres would then be needed to keep the same rolling radius that I have now?

One other dumb question, what is PCD? Your post mentions 108 all round, is this the stud pattern?

The ford 4-stud pattern is a 3" square. Stud patterns are usually quoted in terms of the pitch center diameter (PCD) which is the diameter of the circle passing through the centerline of all the studs. A 3" square stud pattern corresponds to 108mm ish PCD. If you say 108mm PCD people know it really means 3" square.

Pete - PCD = Pitch Circle Diameter when I went to school (a long time ago). Same meaning really and 3" sq. works out to 107.76 PCD.
