considering buying this car, MOT fail/advisories question
Discussion
I'm looking at this car, it's a 2015 Citroen Berlingo.
It has a seemingly high-ish MOT fail rate.
This is the history, what do you think? Thanks!

Tyres don’t worry about them. Just look em over when you see the car. Spring should have been replaced, again just check it. The driveshaft’s are interesting as they twice been highlighted as failed across a 3 year period, so I suspect they just glued the bellows and got it through the MOT. I’d be asking the seller - if trade to swap out the shafts for new ones. SOGA is your friend on this.
If private the. A heft discount asking to pay for the repairs. They are easy to do, but not if you’re not a competent diyer

to be fair a 5 year old car with sticky sliders on the rear brakes, a 7 years old car with worn front brakes, and an 8 year old with a broken spring. All just normal wear and tear stuff. My concern would be the gaiter not being picked up during servicing. My guess is the only servicing it has seen is an oil change, plus the sort of person who doesn't at least check for worn tyres before putting their car in for an MOT is not really going to be on top of maintaining it to the required standard.
There is a real lack of choice with vans these days when most are based around the same s
tboxes.
I drive a 2015 Berlingo in work. All I can say is it is s
t.
OK it's a van, it's reasonably comfortable when driving, but there is just no room in the cabin. Storage is s
te too. And cup holders on the floor ? Like WTF ? that would never hold a cup anyway and it'd fall over.
Mine must be a base model, as it's genuinely one of the slowest vehicles I've driven in the last 30 years.
Now when I say comfortable, I'm not overly tall, and I still need the drivers seat fully back, I'd hate to imagine what they're like for a tall person.
Room in the back, not too bad
But I just cannot bring myself to like it. But it's a work van, it doesn't cost me anything....and I still dislike it ( although doesn't help that it's too small for what I actually need )
But lack of driver usefulness up front aside, it has electric windows, air con, cruise control etc so in that regard not bad. Just not enough room to put stuff.
And for a van with only 80k on it, the steering wheel, gearstick etc and even carpet really seem more like something with 2-300k upwards would be like.
Just doesn't seem to wear well at all.
