My three closest friends have 7 children between them. All 7 of them are daughters. My partner's closest three friends have eight kids among them and only one is a boy. The last few times I saw kids out on excursion I thought they were all girls schools, but there were some boys in the mix - not many by the way. I used to think the genders were supposed to be balanced, but my experiences tell me there's a lot more girls than boys out there and this means the future will be swung heavily towards women.

Can anyone else chime in with their experiences?

Looks like we have a balance.

Beginning to understand why people want to have a boy and a girl so much.

He’s not wrong though!

What next?

‘I’ve seen three dark haired kids today. Where are all the blonde ones?”

Reads like an attempt to say males are being marginalised, biologically this time.

Which is just false, as may be the OP.

I noticed a lot of kids are well, how can I say it, of African origin. Do you think there are not as many white kids these days?

Only not so amusing, WB was entirely random and I think genuine in his randomness.

Whereas GF is a poorly-disguised Andew-Tate-lite mysogynistic troll.

I'm concerned at the picture of the Nigerian Royal Family on their balcony. Not a single white face.

I think that’s an accurate description. Coincidentally, the three topics he has started in the last 30 days all seem to have a certain slant to them.

Me and my siblings
1B 3G
!B 1 G
3B
!B 1G

My wife's siblings
1B 1G
!B
1B
4B 1G
3G
1 B 3G

Total
14B 13G

Seems fairly evenly balanced.

Used to work with a lady in the 90s who believed that men were not being replaced, because of the contraceptive pill affecting drinking water. She was utterly convinced.

She also refused to buy a Colour TV licence for some reason that I never quite understood.

Obviously across society as a whole the gender balance evens out as pointed out above, but I find it interesting that some families have children exclusively or predominantly of one gender - all daughters with no sons, or vice versa.

I've also often noted that within some families and extended families, birthdays cluster around specific dates. For instance, out of the 365 days of the year, my two siblings share the same birthday; my daughter's and my mother's birthdays are three days apart; my birthday is a week away from my late grandmother's...
