Need a service on my SLS but both previous times it went in for service to MB dealer locally it came out much worse than it went in.

Can anyone recommend an AMG dealer that knows these cars? Preferably Mercedes owned. Happy to travel but I’m in Cheshire so if it’s not crazy far that’s even better.

Julian, North East, as opposed to North West, but Mercedes-Benz Stockton on Tees (Sytner Group) have looked after ours since new and no complaints.

AMG capable dealerships generally make a thing of it so should be fairly clear on websites etc.

Thanks guys, yes, they say they are “capable” but last time my car was treated really badly and left with paint damage, a flat battery and flat tyres. The time before they scratched the steering wheel, left parts loose and used 1/3 tank of fuel “testing” the car. I’m absolutely not taking it back to that one ever again hence I’m looking for recommendations.

Can you give some kind of Enigma / Bletchley park coded name for the dealer so I can avoid taking my C63 there?

I think that would be against forum rules. I did publicly leave a one star Google review for them with pictures of the damage they caused to warn others. I get mails from Google periodically congratulating me for so many thousand views etc, so I dutifully share these milestones with the dealer service department, who never reply!

I have indeed...

I'm also trying to set up a bit of a UK owners meet at Henry's Car Barn

Looks amazing - congratulations - I hope you’ll have a great season with it. Mine hasn’t been used for a year or two to be honest - it needs digging out of the back of the garage. You’ve inspired me to see about firing it up this weekend 👍

Matt from High Peak Autos uses a Mercedes specialist from what I remember. Might be worth calling him for his view?

Just joining the club myself! Collecting car (2013 Roadster) this coming week and very excited about it. Will be good to hear if there is any sort of meet-up planned. I'm London based.

Brilliant - I'll drop you a DM so you can join the Whatsapp group..

As soon as I get the Porsche Meet out of the way I'll focus on the SLS gathering - I've been contacted by Henrys Car Barn about doing it there... but watch this space

While there may be some SLS owners still around on this thread, can I ask how you are finding them?

I have a 2007 SL55 which I like a lot and the SLS is the only thing I fancy moving on to.

Are they reliable or niggly? Do they suffer corrosion? These would be the main issues that would put me off.

I'd be going for the gullwing so issues specific to that would be good to know too.

I would say reliable from what I know. Mine sleeps a lot, but always powers up perfectly and behaves itself when I do want to use it.

Corrosion - I’ve not heard anything bad - they’re complicated underneath though but I am imagining that most people are not subjecting them to winter use.

Just back from a 1700 mile euro trip - the only thing that failed on it was a reg plate light.
Had new Conti sport 7’s fitted before the trip and we had all 4 seasons in one day - no dramas.
The car is epic

Owned mine 13 yrs. 25k miles zero issues or niggles.

It’s been faultless.

No corrosion issues.

Having been under mine, I can tell you these are no normal MB build quality.
They’re one of the best cars I’ve seen for build.

The underside does not corrode, it’s beautifully finished. Even exposed bolt threads are protected from rust with a dollop of something.

Remember these were built by AMG
