On Sky if you can find it, what a brilliant documentary about a complex character. Brought tears to my eyes in places. Well worth finding.

I caught the last 40 minutes.

A really good watch. I'll certainly be watching it from the start.

I'll echo the epositive sentiments.

His heartfelt reaction to the award versus how he'd ruthlessly spoken about his missed championships was astonishing.

Never mind just how hard he worked and how relentless his pursuit was just for a drive.

What a man,

Nigel Mansell, I wish I'd known earlier what an inspiration you are.

Up there with the 'WOW, wtf?' I felt after watching & learning about Michele Mouton.

Any clues as to where to look?
I think I've exhausted all the Sky menus and found lots of stuff but not that program.

I watched it on a chanel called Sky Showcase today, but when I search it, it comes up as available to watch on Sky Documentary channel now.

Agreed with everybody else, was an excellent watch.

the Sky F1 team were promoting it after Qualifying today. It was on Sky Documentaries early on this evening. So should be able to find it on demand via thy Sky menu as well.

confused

"Nearly Senna" should be a compliment?

"With a moustache" is factually correct.

Do you really find Malcolm E Boo's comment infantile and immature?

Gutted my recording chopped off the last 15 mins of this due to the F1 Qualifying overrunning. Was a great watch need to catch it again to see it all. Reminded me of my late father he was a big Mansell fan

Mansell is usually portrayed as a bit of a caricature but it was great to see his more human, emotional side. And what a brave man.

Started watching it on Sky Docs yesterday but had to turn it off as had other stuff to do. Will carry on today.

Car liveries back then were much better than today, colours and sponsors.

He was a difficult man to like at times, overly dramatic and clearly with some kind of inferiority complex that he did not ever need. But on his day he was mesmerising, he was box office in many ways.

But in the end I could take or leave Nigel he has an inferiority complex but he thought he was worth far more than he actually was especially when he retired!

I think F1 was better back then. Imagine the pain he was in when he won the championship in 92.

Peak F1 for me, Nige on a charge through the field, will the car make it to the end etc. The most exciting driver there ever was IMO.

Not the same these days.

Was a big Nigel fan bitd, still am. Will have to look up that documentary when I can (don't have Sky but my parents do).

Even though I knew he was beyond brave at times is till remember the conversation I had with Karun Chandhok when he was doing demo runs with the FW14B a few years ago. I asked him if it was true there was a second edge of the limit in the car that had been alluded to at the time that only Mansell could access. A voice from behind said:

"Patrese could drive the car at 10/10 and beat the field. Mansell could go out, drive a lap at 10/10 then step it up again and find the extra limit. The issue was if you drove at 11/10 it spat you off at the first opportunity but step up to 12 and it would grip again and just turn on rails."

They were in Williams uniform and were prepping the car but didn't recognize them. Karun turned to me and just said "I tried that once, spun spectacularly. Mansell was another level."

Was great to hear a story confirmed by people who knew what they were talking about and explained the 1+ second a lap Mansell would pull on Patrese when required.
