Fuel pump issue
Discussion
It seems the most likely thing is that the immobiliser removal is incomplete. From wiki, "Approved immobilisers must intercept at least two circuits; typically the low-voltage ignition circuit and the fuel pump circuit." So it sounds like you've closed the loop on the ignition, allowing it to turn over, but not for the fuel pump, hence the observed lack of fuel.
I suggest trying to check the voltage at the fuel pump, likely it isn't being given any.
For further troubleshooting it may be useful to tell ppl which engine your Boxer has, as some people may have experience with specific models.
