Just been informed that Klarna are cancelling all cards on the 2nd October 2023, does anyone have any idea why

Surely that’s a good thing?

Worst thing to ever hit shopping!

Disagree. I've used it a couple of times when it's popped up as an option. Bought a Pergola for the garden (£4800) and got the option of 6 interest free payments, daft not to take it.

If that were the case, surely they'd have taken https://www.klarna.com/uk/card/ down ?

It’s not that angle that annoys me. People have used credit for “unattainable” things since credit cards were introduced. I have - need a new appliance today but don’t have £600 in your pocket - absolutely.

It’s their push to give credit for things people shouldn’t be getting credit for:

Weekly shopping
Expensive trainers
Beauty treatments

They’re after the same market as Wonger went for a few years ago. It doesn’t do people any good.

Think it's brilliant for big purchases where they offer 0% over 6 or 12 or pay in 3.

Why would you not take that and keep the money in your account for longer, especially now rates on savings are going up even if its only a few pounds that's better than nothing.

Agree purchased a few things on it - nothing mega but say £300 - 3x £100 nicer than £300 lump out.

I don’t like the fact that it’s available on cheaper things, purely as I know the target market is one that will struggle to afford it as it builds up.

Reminds me a bit of the catalogues

I haven’t heard it but would guess one or two things:

People ain’t paying them back or, more likely there is a burden of regulation they can’t meet with their target market to remain worth it.

Yep used them for buying myself an Xbox Series X with 2 years GamePass Ultimate 0% and pay over 24 months. Very handy if I am honest!
