Never been and thinking about a few days or a week.

Interested in food and relaxation, maybe a few days in a city and some further afield with a hire car.

Plan to fly from Exeter or Bristol as that's a simple option.

Cork is lovely and has the Ring of Kerry closeby, also Bantry Bay.

Bantry bay is a good suggestion and if you can fit it in, then Killarney ( Lough Leane) and up to Limerick.

Galway is good for a visit, or Cork as mentioned.

We used to go to Donegal a lot a few years ago as the Inlaws had a cottage there (Dunfanagy), lovely place but not much to do.

As an alternative suggestion, how about Northern Ireland? Belfast is great fun and some of the surrounding areas are fantastic. Some great seafood along the coast too.
