My integrale needs 205/50/15 - and theres not much choice nowdays at all (odd as there must be lots of car that ran this size originally).
Available there are a few Yokohamas (V701 & AD08RS a trackday tyre ),conti sport contact 2 (very old tyre), and a uniroyal sport 5 rainmaster (soft squidgy, great in the rain, but not very performance oriented) and that’s about it…

Looks like v701 is where its at but a shame theres nothing like a modern nice Michelin available etc…

Anyone tried these v701 out? / know of any other decent tyres in 205/50/15 available?

thanks

Try ATS Euromaster:

Continental Premium Sport Contact
Hankook Ventus Prime 3
Falken ZE310
Yokohama AD08RS and V701

Ignoring cheap ditchfinders.

Thanks for posting but my post was asking about peoples views on any tyres they had actually used or had experience of.

The only (non-track-orientated) ones I can see that I've actual experience of (but not in the same size) are the Hankook Ventus Evo 2, Michelin Pilot Exalto, Vredestein Sportrac 5, and Continental ExtemeContact Sport.

2 were on non-sporty cars (the Michelin and Hankook) and they were very capable at keeping it sticky-side-down, Vreds were on a Z4 coupe, and the Continentals were on a friend's GT-R33.

The most modern/sporty of those tyres are probably the Continentals (which according to my friend provided similar dry performance levels to the Michelin PS4S with better wet performance, and were cheaper), although a v2 has recently been released in some sizes.

However, I'm not a tyre tester and what felt find to me may feel too harsh or too squidgy to you.

ETA, sorry, friend's car ran the track-biased ContiForceContact the ExtemeContact is a US tyre/tire.

AD08RS are considered the go to road tyre for Elise S1 (15" fronts). Some consider the AD08R that preceded better, on road I don't think there is much difference. Personally I wouldn't class them as a track tyre, more a summer road tyre.

Depends how much you use the Lancia in the wet or cold, if a fair weather car I wouldn't discount them.

Toyo TR1, just put two on the Excel

No experience but some Nangkangs are well thought of in hillclimb circles

If it's dry weather only Toyo R888R
or
Yoko A052 or the A048

Can you go up a size to 225?

Application ? road ? race ? other ?

Doesn't seem like that long ago, that was a real performance size !! ( but yes, it was that long ago lol )

If you're a little more flexible on the sizes....there are other 16" options ?

We have Vredestein Quatrac 5 all-seasons on my wife’s Fabia. They are 195/55 - R15. A good all round tyre. Unlike some all-seasons, they are asymmetric, and not directional, so once fitted to a wheel, they can be swapped around to any corner.

Thanks all. I tried the toyo tr1, but i found them awful - so soft in the side wall you could rock the car when stationary like some 70s American barge so you cna imagine what the handling was like on them... the older t1r was good but they dont make them anymore.

I just want a road based tyre for uk summer use (with trips to europe) - not a track day tyre.
Must be safe in the wet when i envitably get caught in the rain.

Its amazing how pirelli wont remake the p700z or pzero in integrale sizes. (you can get p7 but they is a much older design and i feel not suited to the integrale) - i guess no one drives their cossies or integrales anymore frown

Has to be 205/50/15. So looks like either the yoko advan or conti sport contact.(i like uniroyal rain but i think these have also too soft a side wall for an Integrale)

I'm running Michelin Pilot Sport 3 195x50 R15 on my mk1 MR2.

Very happy so far, only disappointment is that I couldn't get the lower load rating version, which is all I need for a car weighing under a tonne.

One bonus is lots less road noise than the Pirellis I had on previously.

Nankang NS2R could be worth a look as could the Zestino Gredge 07R (not RS).

I haven't tried the NS2R but I have a set of AR1s for racing - The NS2R is a much more road biased tyre within the same range

If you go to 195/50/15 you can get Michelin PS3 which are excellent. I also really liked Goodyear efficient grip in that size, although the peak grip wasn't as high they were very good for the money and felt very similar to PS4 in the end

I tried the Dunlop Sport BluResponse on a friend's car, and I thought they were excellent for a relatively "basic" tyre, they're likely what I'm going to put on my 924 when I change to the 15" wheels.

But unfortunately they don't have 205/50R15 - you would need a slight size tweak to 195/50 or 195/55.
