Ladies: shame on you
Discussion
In this weeks Sunday Times the Money section did a piece on the personal finances of Susie Perry of World superbike fame. They often do a mix of sports people, celebrities etc.
Thing is, the photograph of Ms Perry, in this very sensible adult discussion on ISAs, tax, mortgages and savings was of her lying out looking alluring with her skirt heading thighward. This is not the first time I have noticed that any woman who isn't Thora Hird has to get her bits out and seduce me through the paper, irrespective of how serious they want to be taken.
Now ladies, if you want to be taken seriously and treated fairly, why do you get talked into flashing a bit of leg and cleavage all the time? Can't imagine J. Clarkson with his shirt unbuttoned to the waste in his posing pouch in the Telegraph can you? (well I can but it makes me feel sick).
At the gym today, music video, 3 guys singing fully dressed and 30 ladies in the background in bikinis, all oiled up giggling their bits at me. Nothing to do with the song as far as I could see. Next a female singer, giggling her bits at me, no men giggling in background.
There's more: Recently I have had one attractive school teacher offer me sex if I would do her a big favour and turn a blind eye to her illegal goings on, and one who I saw unbutton her blouse and hitch her skirt up just prior to a meeting when she needed to get me to see things her way. Neither worked.
Why do some women still feel the need to use their gender in their favour? I feel it undermines all the things that hard working, assertive and switched on women do. And even some of them are not adverse to using their femininity to get ahead (see teacher above).
Before you get all 'victimised' or say men are weak and you exploit it, or complain men made you do it (bigger boys!) just be responsible. Say NO. Don't do it.

Were they actually jiggling their bits or just giggling at your bits?

hmmm....worked for the bint that wanted my job when I left Reading and moved to Cornwall
long post, bear with me - I was serving a few young ladies when working for another company, who left after we'd done our business. One of them came back 3 minutes later to ask me out (the pretty one
) I couldnt help noticing that she'd removed half her clothes. Its natural, sexy, psychologically advantageous for women (or sales media teams) to use womens curvy bits to appeal.
You cant seperate the boob from the woman, they go hand in hand, or in my hands given the chance
And most men feel the same.
example:
This was discussed a long time ago in a computer related publication. One reader wrote in saying "why place scantily clad women on the cover" - the only answer is because it appeals to men. Any man who challenges this is experiencing his mind thinking, rather than his senses responding. A normal thing given the over stimulated minds the media leaves us with at the end of each day.
Women "to a degree" experience men and life through their boobs. They feel good when dressed up. Feel attractive when their boobs and bodies look good. Us men dont need to adjust our tackle to reassure ourselves that we are looking and feeling our best. Do we gang?
How many times do you see a woman glancing down at her boobs? All the bloody time! How often do you see a man staring down at his tackle, wondering if it looks good?
But more to the point (given that women appeal and make things sell) How many times do you see a man staring at a womans jabberclackers?
All the time! And long may it continue. Except for the blind people who masturbate too much.

I can't speak for other women but nobody would be able to talk me into something I wasn't comfortable with doing. I was taken on by a fashion modelling agency as a teenager but couldn't go through with the shoots. I hated the whole experience. I'm not happy using my femininity to get what I want. And I'd never put too much on show - it's just not me. However, I can't say it's had a detrimental effect!

It isn't going to stop. As long as people want Norks in the face (cue truck load of 'fnar' gags) to persuade them to buy / Read / Support things and continue to buy products etc that are advertised in this way, the advertisers will continue to use them and pay us ladeez shed loads of money to pose.
Have you tried getting all your reading material in braille?

I reckon you'd get on great in Saudi Arabia, you have a lot of views in common, they wont let women show anything at all.
Women don't have to show everything but no-ones saying that they have to. Forcing women to cover up is just as oppressive as forcing them to walk around in Bikini's IMHO.
Generally if a women is all dressed up and looking nice and feeling sexy then she will probably like the attention and her self confidence will be sky high. Nothing wrong with a confident women any more than a confident man. You could argue that there is something wrong with a women having to dress provocatively to give herself more confidence in attracting a man, but then there are probably men who buy an Aston Martin convertable to boost their own confidence. In the end neither might not make much difference, Aston man would probably still pull without an Aston and Ms Sexkitten would probably still pull in a tracksuit but if some people think they need the help then thats their own self confidence problem.
Of course there is far more to it than that but I'm very tired and going to bed.

He did have a point though. Its now become acceptable to plaster attractive women and/or just their bodies on almost anything, to help promote the product. Ive caught myself thinking (cheering internally, even?) the same thing.
Look out for it when you're next in the shops.
Does anyone remember LA Law, the TV show? Back in the early 90's I seem to recall my grandfather (the one whose ancient moth eaten coat I wore when I went to the planatarium) actually complaining with disgust that the ladies in the show were disgracefully dressed like tarts.
Even at the time (I was very young) I remember thinking wow, hes lost it, they're merely smartly dressed business women, very attractive (yes because this is television) He was more used to black and white textbooks with no modern visual stimulus. Well, except for the pervy artbooks I found in his library
