Getting close to achieving peak garage now:

1: Lotus Exige 410 Sport
2: Ford Ranger Raptor (400hp)
3: ???

What's the most comfortable, quietest, most relaxing vehicle you can think of without mega running costs?

For commuting, showing up to nice places. Needs 4 seats but don't need to worry about kids.

Open to ideas, doesn't need to be flashy.

This. Old enough now to be quite classy, fairly easy and cheap to maintain.

Lexus GS. Will be reliable and look less like a minicab than an equivalent Merc or BMW saloon.

(My initial thought on seeing the OP's other two cars, was that the Missing Piece would be a Hot Hatch)

Like it, I'm surprised you say cheap to maintain, but maybe I'm just looking at the badge.

I think I'd prefer something newer though, I.e. decent infotainment, economy, etc

Again the right idea but a bit newer please 🙏 I took a long look at a 1990 Merc SEC, I've always loved the styling, but I've decided I want something more modern in reality.

Some ideal of budget might help, especially if a 5 year old Lexus is 'too old'.

It's got a radio what more do you want hehe

Really this era of BMW are relatively cheap to maintain, especially if you can DIY. Parts are not too dear (with a good range of aftermarket options), they are in many ways a joy to work on, and aside from a few foibles are fairly reliable. I will grant you that rust can and is an issue.

You will hate me for this but if you want quite, comfortable, refined, relaxing (and fast) then how about an iPace? They are very cheap at the moment. Or, if you have a few more quid, a Taycan. Also cheap (at least compared new).
I run a 997 (4.1 Hartech) and a 2CV (only car I can work on and not break) and the iPace is the best daily I have ever had (previous dailies were C7 RS6 and B9 RS4).
You will not want to get up in the morning at the weekend and go for a blast in it, but you already have something for that wink

The thought had crossed my mind as well.

Plenty of EQC's around £40k and mine is a very quiet and refined place to be on my commute.

Yep, given you've got toys - if you want quiet, refinement, surely you have to go EV? Taycan or eTron GT would be my bet.

You don't need an eSUV because you've got the raptor, so they would tick that box nicely.

5yr old Lexus not too old - sorry didn't realize what generation you were thinking about.

I have been thinking an EV might fit the bill, still not totally sold on usability/charging. Quiet by default though.

Yep liked those even before I saw this:

Bit big though and I bet it comes with some monster bills.

Not a fan of losing big sums on depreciation. Ideally looking to spend up tk 40k

If you want to keep the depreciation sensible & have access to AMG (500+bhp via a simple remap) then go for the CL500, the 4.7TT V8 is a peach you don't get AMG tax on the parts or running costs.

CL500 with the air cooled seats:

Now if you want the ultimate then the CL65 AMG is the one BUT they're not cheap to run:

Somewhere in the middle is the CL63 it's not as subtle as the two above but if you want to travel 1st class the the CL is the car:

Range Rover.

Comfy, quiet, practical and spacious.

Does not scream money like a Bentley or RR.

S class also good call but not as practical.

Another for a Lexus of some variation. Just run it, service it, forget about it. Easiest vehicles ever to own.
