Hi all,
It has been a long time since I posted on any forums, but seeing how well used PH still is inspired me to contribute.

I have been competing in stage rallying for 15 years in a Mk1 Escort, Evo 6 and now my Fiesta R5.

The new cat is quite a thing and I have rather randomly started vlogging about it, which may be of interest to the members of the forum.

Here are some pics of the car and some links to my youtube channel.

Any questions, fire away.

Best wishes
Richard

My first question- do you ever just drive it down the shops?

I try not to drive it anywhere except onto the trailer, in between stages on road sections, and to and from MOT each year!

Probably a stupid question but I thought you could only store a certain amount of fuel at a house - do you need a license or similar to store a 25 litre drum?

Well, I store everything at my unit; not aware of any rules, which I would have to ignore anyway!

Thanks - I am trying to de mystify the cars and give a real insight into owning and driving them.
My aim is produce the content I would have liked to see, before I owned one.

Any particular reason why?
Insurance, cost etc
Genuinely interested as if I imagine if I had one I’d be tempted to take it out just for fun!

Yes, Mark. Replaced with a Fabia R5, then a Polo R5.

Any race car is lovely, but a purpose-made one that has numberplates is just heaven.

I’d love to know too why we don’t see them on the roads being driven regurlarly? To prevent wear on the drivetrain? Because there’s just no point?

Rally cars don't make good road cars , they're only happy when driven hard , also the cost per mile to run them is rather high .

Do you order these from Ford, VW, Skoda etc. Or do you start with a basic car get it converted to rally spec by a specialist?

How do they cost to buy?

Are they easy to repair? You regularly see videos on YouTube with them looking absolutely wrecked and I always wonder if they'll be repaired or scrapped!

Pretty sure you could buy the Fabia one directly from Skoda for about £200k? Think there was an article about it on here...
