After seeing your post, I thought I'd watch the first episode out of morbid curiosity. The first 10 minutes are cringy, but after that it wasn't bad for a first episode.
It doesn't seem to have the charm of the original or the charisma of the main characters. I'll watch another episode or two and see how it goes.
It's a continuation 30 years or so after the original experiment, rather than a reboot.

I've started this and live posting....first 5 minutes utter tosh...into the time leap and nostalgic and quite likeable...then back to "Al" who is now a woman....I'll stop spoiling you finding out the crap they've reproduced and ruined the original with.
Al is not a woman, Al is dead. However, his daughter Janice is indeed a woman. The woman you are talking about is Addison who is the fiancee of Ben (the leaper) and not really an Al replacement as it would spoil the story arc if she was. You need to watch more of it to understand the characters and why they are who they are.
Watched the entire series using a VPN earlier in the year. There are some very good episodes. One in particular stands out that was dealing with a trans gender teen. It was very thought provoking without being preachy or pushing an agenda.
There is also an intriguing story arc throughout the series. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Its really a continuation of the original as reference is continuously made to Sam Beckett and Al Calavicci, and Als daughter, Janice, plays a significant role in the story arc.Gassing Station | TV, Film, Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
