I stumbled on an eBay seller offering LED upgrades for these.

The standard offerings are so puny you can see the individual photons dripping out of them one by one. Imagine my joy one dark night when trying to find a country pub - the satnav lid had jammed down so I reached for my emergency map - haha - pull over, hold lamp 3" under dim glow, lean forward, squint... people are supposed to get to Geneva in this grand tourer apparently. I can't get it out of Essex.

Anyway, the seller says they're easy to fit, just bish bash bosh and there you are. Well I looked at the enclosure that houses the lights and I'm none the wiser. Has anyone done this rather crucial upgrade?

Yes nice and easy job, actually the 1st job I did on my V8V. The lights just drop down, twist to remove bulb holder, pull out bulb then put new one in.

No need to remove binnacle, the lights do just drop down, I'm sure Aston 1936 or many others have done a video on the tube.
