I have a 2013 Astra (ASTRA ELITE CDTI S/S) and have been having issues with the DPF. It won't regen properly and I've had it removed and attempted to clean it but this didn't work too well either. I'm thinking of just buying another DPF unit but not an official Vauxhall one as they cost a fortune. I'm sure I've read that you can get third party DPFs that are much better value for money. The car has done 88k miles so if I got a new DPF that lasted even a few years then that would be okay!

Is there a company that people on here use that you'd recommend? I'm sure I've seen some third party DPF's for around £400 but wouldn't know which are any good or not.

Thanks smile

Is this still ongoing? How did the legal route go? Generally, aftermarket DPFs are only fit for the bin.

I'd consider a local Motor-factor that will gaurantee that the parts are OEM (but not stamped OEM) grade. Adding branding adds cost and suppliers are permitted to sell parts externally from the manufacturer network.

Or, buy as low a mileage DPF as you can secondhand, ebay, local FB marketplace etc.

If secondhand, ideally one where you can see it still fitted to the car before removal. There are still independent breakers that do this (tbh they're less scally then the big groups imho}.
