First the London club thread and dress-code comments, then the dark/light interior thread and comments about seats stained blue! I never realised people still wear blue denim that much to make it such a key factor in their lives? I'm really not a jeans wearer, and don't know a huge number of people who are, especially men. Are you that committed that you will spec a car or limit your access to certain venues because of your appreciation of blue denim?
Funnily enough, I started thinking about how often I wear jeans the other week on a bus. I'm 51 now, and jeans have been my preferred daily choice all my life. Then I was on a bus and happened to notice that my jeans made me an outlier. I'm still pondering what (if anything) to do about this. I used to wear a suit to work in London, but now I run a small business in SoCal where jeans and a dri-fit polo shirt are a convenient and tidy work outfit.
Has anybody else had a sudden realisation that the world has changed?

I wear jeans pretty much daily (wfh). My kids wear jeans occasionally citing them as less comfortable than cuff trousers, combats or tracky bottoms.
Having purchased some tracky bottoms with cuffs on them I do like their feel, bit more room to move about so to speak, but my wife hates me wearing them. So I've bought two pairs.

The world has changed, maybe not for the better though!Has anybody else had a sudden realisation that the world has changed?
A pair of 501's, Ben Sherman shirt, and a pair of Loafers is still the goto for the older 'cool' generation, I reckon? A smart linen jacket completes the ensemble when the event requires one.
I rarely wear my vintage 501's...
Every day. Like pretty much every other male in NI, daily wear consists of jeans, brown dealer boots and polo shirts/check shirts. It’s a bit like a strange Dukes of Hazzard convention over here! Joking aside, I find that sort of clothing practical and comfy for daily wear, for work and leisure.
Pretty much wear them daily for work, getting out of a role where I was expected to wear a suit was wonderful.
I usually wear them out and about generally too, going for meals etc. I don't generally go anywhere where there is some kind of expected dress code unless i'm getting paid to do so.
I wear jogging bottoms or shorts at home for comfort.

69 years old and I still wear jeans daily.
I had a manual job so jeans were my normal workwear as well.
I think I’ve got one pair of dress trousers but I suspect they may have shrunk in the wardrobe as it’s been so long since I’ve worn them.
I suppose once I grow up I might evolve to cargo pants.

It was my wife's idea. In most blue jean situations - Levi 501 in my case - I now wear black Levis.
There are limits, of course. Occasionally I have to dress up.

Black Levi's are acceptable for funerals ( particularly for biker friends departed) otherwise denim should only be worn blue, in a shade of your choice, although I would avoid the lighter shades when one is on the limit of continence. It was my wife's idea. Mrs C is wrong, on this occasion!

Trousers, chinos (I guess just 'posh' jeans), corduroy, moleskin, cavalry twill, cargo pants, breeks, walking trousers, a kilt, tracksuit bottoms, pyjamas, take your pick. Plenty of other options.Like just for a day out, a meal out, visit to a pub?
