Just bimbling around the site of my local non-league footy team.
Had a look at the site stats and saw that a lot of the referring URL's are pretty dodgy sounding porn sites

What does this data mean?, I pretty sure that Hotmoms.porn wouldn't have a link to a small footy team?
Cheers guys

Look out, dodgy links there or what? incest-rape.xxx.com? Ouch.

Maybe some dodgy resolving of IP addresses resulting in the links being incorrect, but I don't think that's what is happening here.

Otherwise maybe it's something at the host end going wrong. Sorry, can't think really what would cause that.

thats quite impressive really!

Could it not be someone who is visiting said sites decide to check on his favourite site? Do you have site tracking on there? I know www.statcounter.com can tell you the paths people take through your site but it's a bit slow & is limited in capacity.

Its possible the webmaster of the footy site is buying traffic, so lots of unused URLs are redirected to the site.

Problem with that is its the wrong target audience, but he won't know that, because he'd have been mis-sold, I.E guranteed 100,000 football fans per week, when actual fact you get 100,000 peeps that are into porn etc.
