In todays news paper Jeannine is closing and the ACO is buying the the bar.
Another tradition that the ACO will change for the worse no doubt

I doubt the ACO will keep it as a bar, it'll be a car park or ticket booth or something dull.

I have only visited it once, that was shortly after the race and it was like a Wild West bar in a B-move after a large brawl. People sleeping on tables, glasses everywhere. I have a feeling they'd actually just stopped serving so we couldn't even get a beer.

I know others are fond of it, so it will a sad loss to many people's trips.

That's the end of that then, I hope the Endurance and the Bugatti bar are too far away from the track!

Bar Aux Portes wasn't a regular haunt, but you know that it'll go to corporate hospitality or something else dreadful

It’s a shame but not a surprise, she been on about retiring for years, this time she’s done it, been there every time I’ve been to Le Mans.
Bet the ACO fk it up.

Hope she enjoys a long and happy retirement; well deserved I imagine.

Not an ACO buy out but apparently Le Casque on Tecnoparc has been sold recently, I must admit its one place I had no idea of until we popped in yesterday.
No cars left in the 'pits' and the old owner was eating in there yesterday, finalising things I guess?

Has there been any info made an available about what’s happening to Janine’s then?

I popped in there for the first time last year and had brilliant night, eventually falling asleep on someone’s camp chair out the back 😂

Yea I seen that on SCW. €1000 a night over race weekend and around €800 a night Thursday Friday.

Such a shame it’s gone.

I've given up trying to parlez, but taking a picture with Google Translate has got me out of trouble many times. Just take a picture of the small print and within a couple of seconds you've got it in English. Really good on menus, wine labels etc!
