How not to sell a car!

I buy and sell the odd motor. They are usually fixer uppers form Evilbay and Marketplace.
Just contacted a seller who had a cheap Citroen listed.... "engine smokes". My question, "what colour smoke" his reply, "I dunno, it is what it is, cheap!"
Why do some sellers think "it's cheap" or "it is what it is" serves as an adequate description when you are looking to spend your hard earned cash and they seem quite aggrieved that you have asked any questions? There is no such thing as a cheap car, it may have a low buying price but that usually comes with hidden costs on top of the work which needs doing.
I missed out on a Renault Laguna 2 for £259, didn't want to bid higher.... it was a Laguna! The seller had listed a few poor photos including one side with a spacesaver wheel on and a very brief description. When I contacted him it turned out the car had one previous owner, MOT, full dealer history, a new clutch, recent cambelt and a new tyre on the alloy sitting in the back. In the right place with the right photos and description this might have been a £900 car, though it was a Laguna.
You could say that poor photos and descriptions plus a total lack of interest in the selling process by sellers can be a benefit when buying as it puts many people off? I recently picked up a very tidy limited edition 08 Mazda 6 for £300, the chap was asking £800 but again... very poor listing and knowledge about the car he had owned for three years, it turned out to have full digital Mazda service history and the parts... spare key, head rests, mats, parcel shelf all appeared when I collected the car, all the things I had knocked him down on!
I do think there is a market for helping these people who genuinely don't like the selling process, don't have the time or just can't be bothered. I know it's generalising but they tend to be on low incomes, which makes me struggle to understand why they have so little interest in probably their largest asset?
