Just thought I’d give a heads up incase anyone was thinking of buying a ulez compliant car and checking if it’s compliant on line.

When I use the motorway site it gives certain cars I’ve checked the all clear and ulez compliant, but when I check the same cars on the government website they are not compliant, I’ve not checked other non government sites but seems odd you can have a yes and no.

So always use the government site is the morale of the story.

You quickly get a feel for which cars are and which aren't.

Anything diesel post 2016 will be. Some diesel cars were compliant as early as 2012.

Many cars had a facelift around 15/16 which introduced the euro 6 diesel engines.

motorway.co.uk is total BS

Very classy of Google to have them at the top of their ULEZ search...

Only ever trust the tfl.gov.uk site, and even then if the car is old then check the V5C emission figures before you buy.

TFL are the ones who will give you the fine, so go by what their site says.

Random one to add, but also check the specific emission requirements.
My motorcycle isn't picked up by the plate checker, but does meet the requirements from an emissions standpoint. It did required a letter of homologation from the manufacturer, but, along with that and a form to TFL, I was issued with a letter declaring it exempt.

Worth noting it's important to keep the letter. Suckadiqkhant's office is obviously not staffed with the best, so there have been occasions when it has been necessary to send their own letter back to them to ensure they don't erroneously issue a fine.

I'm not sure you quite understand how Google works...
