Is it worth it, i.e.

Noise?
Turbo reliability?
Anything else?
etc,etc.

Has anybody used a dealer to fit one yet?

nope ... but if it helps I've got the Vegantune one fitted by the lads in Boreham Wood...

Sounds awesome (hear it even at full throttle at silly speeds) -- definately improves throttle response when "pushing on" -- dont know about turbo wear etc as I've only had it a few weeks.

Cheers

Expected you might say that! ;-)

Seriously though is it something worth considering to improve on reliability. Especially now my car is out of warranty?

turbo reliability - no idea.
In theory it should help but if you think about it people who fit them are likely to be using the turbos more so it probably balances out. How reliable are the turbos? I've heard of one or two blowing but generaly relaibility does not seem to be a problem so I doubt you should buy a BOV for that reason.

I've got one on. If you've got the filters forward, you won't notice much noise difference. As for turbo life, it's one of those things that's diffcult to quantify. Let's just say it certainly won't hurt. Performance wise there is a quicker turbo pick up when accelerating as the turbo's don't completely stall when you lift off.

Hi, I've got the Vegantune one and, yes it does sound good (altough my TVR driving buddies thing it sounds like a HGV air-brake...). I noticed a huge difference in gear changes, the lack of back pressure 'stalling' the turbo's makes things a lot smoother and does, in theory, reduce the load on the turbo's as you're venting the pressure back through the valve rather than the turbo itself.

I've had the front one go. To be honest I don't think a BOV would make much difference. The problem is it gets stupidly hot and cooks itself. adrian w has a neat solution to this (well I thought so anyway). Paul, don't you pipe air from the sidepods up there (another good plan)?

Don't you also need the rubber top pipe replaced with a solid one?

No, the standard silicone TB - IC outlet pipe is absolutely fine on engines running standard or close to standard levels of boost.

However we do realise that a solid polished ally/stainless TB - IC outlet pipe is rather fetching and will have one available in the very near future.

Best Regards
Matt

Yep I've got Matt's BOV fitted.....v easy to install.

Pick up through gear changes is quicker due to lack of turbo lag.......I cant hear it making any noises but there again I've got the air filters mounted in the correct postion

Did it not reduce the funky sounds you get out of the filters. Do you still get the great array of wooshy and caccley noises even with a BOV?

It does a little but I've only noticed this so far when at low speeds/revs......usual hooning still creates the magical noises. Only had it fitted a week or so but car was definitely making the right noises at Bedford last week.

Next is the Foulks EBC and ECU remap which Matt is fitting tomorrow

By the way......anyone going to Snetterton with Easytrack on Friday?
