I guess you haven't got the sort code? If you have that you can find the bank. I don't think an account number would show which bank - that's why there's a sort code!

Do you actually have the money in your account?

Will your bank not be able to track it from the info you have.

Just go back to the sender and ask for the missing details - most notably Sort Code. They must know a proper banking address for where they sent the money or they couldn't have sent it.

See also: IBAN. Your IBAN doesn’t replace your sort code & account number ─ it’s an additional number with extra information to help overseas banks identify your account for payments.

How did you originally pay for the item?

If it was Apple/Google pay, don't they "spoof" account details so you can't be traced/recharged/scammed/etc?
