Another year, another European summer road trip done in our 'standard range', 2017 built, 6 seater Model X. W

This year I was keen to remind my self if Norway is prettier than Switzerland/Italy. Its coming up to a decade ago we did our first road trip in my 335i across Europe, so what better way to put the car to test than to repeat the trip.

We ended up traveling to Colmar for the vineyards before traveling to Lake Como and than Lurcen via Stelvio.

The trip went as easily as Norway, and ended up almost mirroring the trip in the 335i interms of route/distance, even stopping at simailr spots.

However the difference was on this time we had 6 people in the car, which was filled literally to bursting.

Despite the car now having done close to 70k miles, and soon 6 years, it really did everything asked of it without isse. Came across a few brand new Xs in Europe, honesty I'm not at sure what really needs upgrading with our car!

We got home last night from the Europe road trip, and today it was back to 'normal' family stuff. Despite been firmly out of warranty, the car has thrown up no new issues this year, and has officially outlasted the house.

I'm starting to plan for summer 2024 soon, the 8 year battery warranty will elapse in 2025, time really does fly when you are having fun. I know even now people get worried about 'freedom' and 'range' with EVs, but after nearly a decade of usinf an EV as our main family car, I struggle to understand why these 'worries' still persist.

A good car should let you enjoy amazing roads, take unnecessary journeys, and make you smile on amazing roads. Our X maybe ancient by new EV standards but does all the important stuff a good car should do so well smile.
