I'm very interested in a car for sale privately but it's ~450 miles away from me in Milton Keynes (Buckinghamshire) so I can't just pop for a look at it.. although even if it was local then it's a fair chunk of cash and I would rather have it properly inspected for me.

I'm looking for recommendations for people/places available to ideally travel to inspect the car at the owners home/work, although failing that somewhere within that general area of the country I could ask the owner to take the car for an inspection.

It was bought new at OPC Silverstone and has been serviced there it's whole life. Should I purchase the car then I would be putting a Porsche warranty on it, so my first thought was to get a Porsche inspection done on the car as it would need to be done before I could put a warranty on anyway.

However, thought I'd stick a post up to see if there were better options available... so any help or suggestions are welcome. thumbup

If it was purchased new and serviced from new at OPC Silverstone the owner should have the original invoice spec sheets and servicing docs including general condition reports etc which the owner could send you copies of and subject to these being to your satisfaction the owner could then take it down the road to Silverstone OPC for its sale inspection and warranty.

You could also negotiate with the seller - that he can pay to get the warranty on it, and transfer it to your name when you buy it, with you reimbursing the cost. Win/win for all, only aggro would be if he sold it in to the trade.
