Comfy mile muncher £5k'ish

Hey folks. I currently have an electric Ioniq on a cheap lease which is due to end in about 6 months. I like electric motoring but have never had something wafty so I'm thinking maybe go for that, especially as I'm currently paying 19p per kilowatt which will go up substantially at the end of my fixed rate. Unless something similarly cheap comes along I will be going away from electric.
Budget is around £5k but variable up to about £8k if worthwhile. Looking for something with a decent economy and comfortable for journeys between 30 and 60 miles each way. It seems like E Classes and CLS' from around 2010 are cheap and fit the bill. Is there anything else I should consider? Anything catastrophically wrong with these options? ULEZ isn't a concern and I've got the 911 for fun.

Mercedes S350L Bluetec - this is at the mileage when things can start to go wrong with these, but somewhat mitigated by having FSH if you believe what the advert says

Some nice E350 coupes have been listed above and that is the sort of thing I would be looking at.
As has already been said, the four cylinder Benz is good enough, but drive the V6 and won't want anything else. Some four cylinder cars will have the more clunky 5G box, whereas the V6 will have the 7G.

May I present to you the Jaguar XJ X350 with its silky smooth, revvy 3.0 petrol V6.
I’ve owned more cars than years I’ve been alive, but the first drive back home across a deserted Peak District in my XJ was most memorable.
This is a car that can waft effortlessly, but when you stick the boot it, it can hustle like a car half its size and weight.
They’re pretty acceptable on the fuel economy, many parts are Ford parts, so running one doesn’t break the bank and in the right colour, with the XJR alloys, I think that they’re still a very pretty car. Prices are starting to creep up as well, so you’re unlikely to lose your shirt on one.
Honestly, never mind all the usual German suggestions, I implore you to try a tidy and well sorted Jaguar X350.
