Mrs.vixen laughed at me* last night and accused me of dressing like a teenager as I excitedly tried on a Fila baseball style jacket that had just been delivered.

It got me thinking, have I turned into the Teddy Boys who I used to see at Southend when I was a kid, still dressing the same way they did when they were kids and with the same quiffs. That was a fashion they were wearing that was less than twenty years beforehand.

Now I'm reverting back to stuff I would have worn in 1983! Forty years ago.

Add this to my growing collection of multi-coloured Adidas trainers, and my wife may have a point.hehe I'm 57 next month by the way.

Do you find yourself wearing stuff from your youth or am I having a crisis? laugh

*She didn't really laugh, but did mention 'teenager'

I get the ‘you dress like a teenager’ every now and then.
I still wear basically what I did in the late 90’s, but it’s come around again now laugh

T-shirt, jeans, trainers - what’s the problem?

I just turned 40 and realised I’ve become one of those ‘40 year old, converse wearing, graphic tee adorned, still wearing baggy jeans’ guys. I’m not ready for the middle age wardrobe yet.

I wouldn’t wear stuff from 15-20yrs ago but it’s good that others will. I sold a load of clothes last year on eBay and Vinted. Made a bit of money one of the jackets sold for 500 quid.

Jeans, tee shirt and Converse is the very epitome of middle aged wardrobe.

Middle aged clothes aren’t what middle aged people wore when you were young, they are what middle aged people wear now. Which, if you’re middle aged, is probably what you wore when your were young,.

Well, I suppose, let's say you "dress your age". So fking what? Fine if you're going for interview or you've been invited to a bbq at your boss's place (and he's CEO of a legal firm or whatever rather than a string of MOT garages). Otherwise, if you're just bumming around the house or popping to Tesco, does it really matter?

I still wear combats. Today, I was wearing a KLF t-shirt that I bought at uni... back when we had grants!

There's a really old guy across the road from me who must be 80 years old, full head of white hair, walks with that stiff walk that everyone of that age has, hunched over, NHS vintage specs with brown frames ( https://www.deadmensspex.com/wp-content/uploads/20...) but he wears 501s, Superdry tops, North Face trendy jacket and Nike blue loafers with the white soles. It's just so wrong wrong wrong ! When you're 80 you don't dress like a 25 year old. When you're 80 you should be wearing the default polyester Farrah's (in grey, or brown, complete with massive crease line down the front) and a cheap yellow polyester shirt, with egg stains down it, and 'proper' shoes, not trainers/loafers/sneakers.

I mean fair play to the guy for refusing to conform to the stereotypes and hang on to his 'youth' as best he can, but he just looks so ridiculous and I chuckle every time I see him out.

My dad is 75 and can still wear some nice jeans, NB trainers and Patagonia fleece.
No grey trousers, V next and tie.
Looks way cooler than 95% of his friends,

Im 44 and still wear pretty much what i did in my mid 20s.
I have a couple of ripped style jeans and sometimes i wonder if they are a bit young for me, but in the end, I like them so I wear them!

I prefer to think I dressed older than I was in my youth. I have the added problem of receding hair which I've shaved but now adds to the sad image that by wearing Levis and a Ben Sherman I'm trying to pass myself off as a skinhead thug from the 1980's or an Oi! fan.

Speeeling error - meant to write Farah's. You know the style - the Roachman's that is the default polyester trouser for every bloke of pensioner age. Usually in grey or brown.
