We are restoring an old car trailer, which we think was a prototype made by Noah himself.

We need some new rear lights - the old ones having crumbled into dust. Absolutely not fitting LEDs because it's an old trailer and it'll look like Lexus lights on a Saxo. Having never done anything with a trailer before... Most of the ones I find are 4-function with an inbuilt number plate light. Owing to the layout of the trailer that's no good to us.

I don't really want to be gaffer taping the lens to blank off the clear bit - am I right in thinking that the number plate illumination comes from the same bulb as the tail light and therefore I can't just leave a bulb out and be done with it?

Cheers in advance!

Well, you can just use a separate number plate light & rear light clusters without a clear window for the number plate.

Indeed! Just trying to find a set of trailer lights without the clear lens, that will fit on the existing mounts.

Series Land Rover rear lights would probably look "right" and are cheap.
