Guys,
Looking for advise on best options for cheapest way to transfer Euros from Foreign Bank into UK Sterling account.

Over €50k

I know that this could be done between the 2 banks but I am looking for a away with the lowest fees. Also needs to be quick with low risk due to the amount involved

Cheers Andrew.

I use Wise, it's excellent, but you can't 50K with them, I think their limit is 10

I used OFX frequently for five and six figure sums but no experience in last few years

Was much better rate than the banks, but i was then alerted by my bank to the fact that for a decent chunk (not sure if 50k qualifies), and for a one off transaction, they’ll negotiate a much better rate for you - RBS did this for me

I’ve had a Wise account for a number of years and moved this and more. It just works.

I used moneycorp 3 years ago for a 6 figure amount, when I bought a villa in Spain. They gave the best exchange rate at the time.

A friend of mine used Currencies Direct to move Euros (proceeds from a house sale) from Spain to UK and was very pleased with the service/rates etc

I was surprised to read this limit re Wise. Admittedly it was 5 years back or so, but I used Wise for the transfer of six figures with no issue.

I did this last year. No problems. It's a slightly longer process than if you are sending 1,000 but the problems I had were with the receiving bank not Wise
