Ac gone on astravan

My AC has packed up. The fan and every thing working. The little light on the AC button won't come on like normal. I can still spin the compressor by hand (when car turned off). Its not engaging while running. Would be some thing simple like a relay has gone? Is there a way to tell if a relay is bad like you can with a fuse?

Could be simply lack of refrigerant, and the pressure switch is preventing the system from working.

Funny enough was just thinking the same. Was having another play with it, turned the fan to full and it came to life. Will see when i can get it booked in.

With most AC systems the light will not illuminate if the control system isn't satisfied that it can work.

Most likely cause is low AC, or a fuse.
