Hiya. I'm looking to buy a 4x4 for rural driving, some farm tracks etc but not proper offroading. I've owned Rav4s, Freelanders and Jimnys in the past. I'd love another Jimny but even ancient ones cost a packet.

I'm not bothered about a massive engine but must be decent on very steep hills..I'm currently driving a Picanto (god knows how I ended up with this!) which I hate and have this week been over taken by a pushbike.

Just me and a 4 year old in the car. No bikes or dogs. I don't care about style, high mileage, what the inside is like or reversing cameras and the like. I know nothing about cars and as a female I often feel sellers take the piss so any advice of good cars to look at would be appreciated.

I am north west side of West Yorkshire. I've looked at a couple of Dacia Dusters but they were too rusty for my liking.

I had a Suzuki SX4 Grip. It was a trusty little tool & really good in 4x4 situations.

Skoda Yeti might be an option.

Can recommend the Suzuki Grand Vitara like this :

my brother had a 2007 low miles one for a few years, it never missed a beat, he regrets selling it.

As a Panda Cross owner myself, I can’t disagree with this suggestion at all.
