Reliable 7,000m over last year inc. Europe & a few gentle track-days came to an end today with an eyeful of antifreeze!

Smelled it when I stopped, went to the front, & bent down to find I was too close for comfort to a tiny high jet of spray. Looks like a joint between a fin & end-tank, so replacement is only way. It's never overheated, so component quality must be the issue.

Means I can't make it to the Monster Meet this Saturday :banghead:

Sorry hear that Will you be trying the Penninsula uprated alloy rad next, or just a direct replacement?

That may be a good idea - have you had one? Idea of cost? Gorner's have a std. one in stock, which would be covered by my extended warranty, but could maybe work something out on a stronger alloy one if the steel rads are a bit prone to this.

Anyone else had rads go on recent Tams/T350's?

I think I'd have one if and when my rad goes, pricey though at around the £400 matk, should last forever though; however, if you're getting yours replaced under warranty, they may insist you have the cheaper bog standard version.

I think the radiator gets twisted by the lateral forces in the bodywork as it is not securely enough mounted to the car (like on a steel bodied car). Chimaeras get through radiators every 20-30,000 miles too.

Yes, had new rads on a variety of cars; alloy ideal but v.pricey so can see why not fitted as standard.
Interesting theory on twisting, it shouldn't be stressed but will look at mounting points when it comes back. To cheer myself up I'm getting a JP sports exhaust fitted by Gorners

Standard fault on early t350s.

All the vehicles sold from my dealer have had their rads changed.

When selling mine every trader would ask the following questions:

1. how many engines has it had?
2. have you had the rad changed?

Had to pay half the cost of my rad change even though I'd complained about water loss and over-heating before the warranty had expired.

If your T350 is using water you need a new rad.
