Now heat pumps are being fitted to EVs as a way of providing heating or cooling with reduced impact on the battery does anybody know if the technology is available to install in a kitcar?

If your vehicle is IC, why bother?

You have a "free" source of heat, somewhere like 60% of your fuel bill goes on making heat, may as well use it.

If you're making something EV then the likelihood is you'll need to source one from a donor like a leaf, niro or e208. They will be designed specifically for each vehicle and I'd be very surprised if there's anything available of the shelf yet.

Your best bet for something in low volume of this nature is probably Eberspacher - might be worth contacting them? Can't see anything on their website, but they might be working on something/have something available.

Make that 75-80%. Internal combustion engines really are monstrously inefficient.
