Red Stuff are generally for track day use, unless you are very heavy on the brakes and keep them hot at all times. I IRC they need heating up before they take. I'd go with Green Stuff. Work from cold and wehn I've used them in the past on other cars they worked very well. Beware of using them on worn discs though.

Greenstuff is good stuff.

Red, by all accounts, needs proper warming up before use. Dangerous on the road as you'll find you've got no brakes just before you go through the first hedge at the end of your road.

Green works instantly and carries on working longer than standard pads.

Red Stuff Ceramics are great. I have them on my Griff 500. They bite well from cold too.

(Note that these are different to the old Red Stuff pads - which I hated as they didn't work for me at all, even when hot...)

Red Stuff - are for heavier cars..

Green stuff are good - I use them as they don't make too muck dust.

There may be better pads out there though.

I really used to like Tarox fast road pads. Many seem to like mintex and Ferodo (ds2500 or 3000..)

I have Ferrodos (DS2500 IIRC) on my other car. They're good too.

I have found that most mintex pads cause wheels to turn black very quickly, no matter how little you use the brakes. Other than that, they were OK.

No problems with the Griff on Redstuffs - maybe I'm just fat?

Exactly what I was going to post, as this is the info from my local reliable source. The change of pad material means that these are no longer useless when cold, and as a result am fitting them tonight.

I'll let you know if I crash after I set out at 05:00am on my way to the TVR Monster Track Day

Nothing like leaving fitting to the last minute

Don't forget to bed them in for about 100 miles and be very careful with the first 10 miles. As you may find you have little or no brakes..

Bedded in as best as possible, however 240mm discs and a track day at Snetterton, has only bought the inevitable upgrade date forward.

As good as red stuff is, on 240's after 5/6 laps then forget it. Seriously long fluid boiling pedal with sometimes nothing at the end to help slow you down.

Now where's my cheque book ?

Don't know about 260 mm plus discs, but my 240's need a couple of slow test pumps of the brakes when first pulling away in the morning, as when stone cold there's not much there. Brilliant after that (well as brilliant as 240's are ever going to be)

Just a friendly word of warning

Still awaiting that offer of a full 4 pot 280 set up for my 15" wheels. Nudge nudge. I'll even pay for it and everything.

When you do upgrade - make sure you use dot 5.1 fluid..

it's better than the old dot 4 and not very expensive anymore
