Torrential thunderstorm then Alarm goes off repeatedly -Help
Discussion
As title really, first time though the keyfob wouldn't disable the alarm & I had to get in & start it to silence the thing (Loud 'ain't they!!!). Since then it's been sporadic but switchoffable(!). Obviously water disruption as it was possibly the worst downpour I've ever seen, but anyone know which area on the car (3r)is the most likely culprit?
On the upside it's been well & truly leak tested & except for a couple of drops, no problem there:).

Most likely is the Clam switches. There is one on each clam, and they work by conducting when open. They are open to the elements and hence water in them can set off the alarm.
Get some WD40 and give both a good squirt and a wiggle.
If not then it's into the alarm manual to find out how it tells you what's gone off.

Removing the door trim panel is easy -
Remove door opener surround (single screw)
Remove interior door handle (single screw)
Remove all screws around outside of door trim.
Remove speaker grill and screws.
Reach in through speaker aperture and along the bottom there are 3 or 4 wingnuts holding the panel on.
Remove door trim
Soak up any water and look for telltale signs of where its coming from - poss rubber wiring bung near hinges or window glass rubber itself
Drill a couple of holes in the underside of the door if you still have a problem and no drainage holes are evident (all cars I have seen have them) I would protect the new holes if you drill them with some resin or similar to protect against possible osmosis
