Nice building .. I knew it was a real building even from the movie - but it does ooze style Edited by The Gauge on Sunday 13th August 21:35
Anyone else watching (on Amazon)?
Pretty pleasant surprise to see it done so well straight off the bat - definitely captures the action/violence of the movies and certainly feels set in the same 'World' as the movies.
Also, love the way they have set it in a stylised version of the 70s.
Could be a winner if they can keep up the quality.

Watched it tonight, thought it was very good. Lots of little nods to the JW films too (the Mustang ect) Brilliant soundtrack too!
Yup - 70's tastic music, cars and fashion. Good decision to set it in that iconic decade and also to show how a couple of key hotel characters got where they are in the 'current day'. Plus, make the focus on the hotel and the goings-on related to it.But also, make the general style/action familiar enough that it reflects what fans like about the movies. The best pilot episode of a TV show I've seen in a long time (even taking into account it's a move spinoff).

Massively enjoyed the first episode, looking forward to the next one. They aren’t really giving it the push it deserves on prime, had to dig for it but well worth a watch.
They seem to reserve the big promotional campaigns for the stuff they produce in-house, but with Prime the best new shows are nearly always the ones they buy in as exclusives.Definitely, I didn't know the show was going to be on Prime. I had been waiting for it for ages and had 'obtained' it elsewhere to watch that evening, was really surprised when I randomly happened to notice it come up on Prime so obviously I watched it there in preference.
Great start to this spin-off (I'm guessing it's a self-contained story) and apparently there's going to be at least one more 'The Ballerina' set between JW3 and JW4. The producers said that if those are well received there may well be more too.
