I had the misfortune to witness this mayhem. Gangs of people just roaming London's west end looking for easy pickings. Meanwhile, Kahn's Police commissioner is busy deploying cops to nick people exceeding 20mph speed limits across the city.

You can say that, but was you there? (If you were, you would have seen the unchecked mayhem) I was, and watched as the mob(s) ran the cops ragged, and I also witnessed the cops 'arresting' as few as possible. As usual, the media lens is just one, often focused lens with which to experience relaity.Though, speaking of drivel...

However, he then added it would not be a high crime area "because the police work incredibly hard with the local community, with the retailers in that part of London, and with those citizens who want to have a good day out on Oxford Street, rather than being worried about that sort of nonsense."

Do we know the ethnicity of the scrotes in question, or are we not allowed to ask questions like that? I only ask, because as a person who is aware of my fortunate "white privilege", I can safely say that when I was a youth in the seventies/eighties, non of my mates from a similar background, ever behaved like this. Our entertainment was going to a pub, playing football, being in a band. If one of our mates behaved like this, then he would be taken aside and told in no uncertain terms to stop acting like a total scumbag.

Yes the working class white youth of the 70s and 80s who were into football definitely didn’t have sections of them that behaved badly!Angels they were.

thiles where going outside your own door is taking your life into your hands. However do we survive.I'd wonder how any of these pearl clutchers would handle anywhere remotely dangerous like Medellin or Bogota in Colombia... Which are safer than several major US cities like New Orleans and neither of these cities is particularly dangerous if you have your wits about you.
Of course these people won't dare venture more than a few miles from the same pub theyve been going to for decades to see the same five other sad faces.
