Porsche dash-cam - anyone using one?
Discussion
Reason for asking, is I had one installed recently in my Spyder, and I have been having quite a few problems with it.
Currently, it still occasionally forgets to record files for some random reason, and having a reliable recording seems quite important to me (!).
More annoyingly, when it does record, the audio is simply awful, with lots of distortion, and a continuous alternator whine (varies with engine revs).
So, anyone else using one, and if so, do you have similar issues?

I’ve got one but can’t get it to connect to the phone app. Keeps saying password not recognised. I’m still waiting for the dealer to call to try to fix it
Sorry can’t be more help. Mine does seem very sensitive to g forces and keeps the file even when it’s only a bit of acceleration.

I can help you on your problem, because I had exactly the same when mine was installed.
The initial user access process is poorly documented.
On initial connection you use the default password, but as soon as you are connected you have to change this password to one that you can remember, otherwise the app automatically generates a new (non-default) password, when you hit "enter". Unless you noted it (and it is very easy to miss the need) you are stuffed, until you do a factory reset, starting again with the default PW.
The installation process is very poorly documented for the dealer as well, because there is a separate process to enable the parking and radar modes. If this is not done properly by the dealer, these modes are disabled and cannot be used.

Thank you - that's very helpful! I've had one fitted to my current Taycan on delivery in January 2022 and I've never been able to access it! Will try this out todayThe initial user access process is poorly documented.
