Omega/Swatch availability
Discussion
My son wants one for his birthday.
I know there was lots of hype over these watches when first released. Are they more readily available now and if so any tips on where to try?(London/SE/Home counties)
Ps; I'm definitely not standing in an overnight queue or some nonsense like that lol
Thanks

Also entirely depends on which one he wants. I understand Mision to the Moon and Mission to Mercury are pretty much impossible to get hold of.
Mission to Neptune seems to be going for stupid money since Daniel Craig wore one so I guess they are impossible to get as well.
I personally don't like any of the other ones.

I'd not be buying one from anywhere other than Swatch if you want a genuine one.
I looked at a couple in Edinburgh earlier in the year but decided it was too much to pay for a swatch. But then this week I was shown some fakes and I'd say the only obvious difference was the box quality being slightly lower, the fakes were being offered at £50 each but there's plenty of them being resold online for close to, or above RRP.

I got one at the Battersea Power station shop - I even had a choice. I think it's because it's not central London - I'd try there first...
Bought a couple from there one Saturday a few months ago. Just happened to be passing by. Moon and Earth. Edited by 12TS on Saturday 12th August 23:21

I was actually in Central London so I popped into a Swatch Shop to see for myself. The shop was pretty busy, and it seemed every body there was looking at these.
As predicted no Moon, Neptune or Mercury. The staff were telling customers the ones they did have, I got the impression they said this 200 times a day.
I think they only had the ones with the white straps in stock.

That was the case when I was in Oxford Street. As predicted no Moon, Neptune or Mercury. The staff were telling customers the ones they did have, I got the impression they said this 200 times a day.

I get the impression the staff are probably bored with these watches now.

Only had the notion for a Neptune for a few weeks but called twice a week since then and they are pleasant enough.
Wish they would just let me order one and then wait for stock.
Work a few mins walk away from the Cov. gdn branch and over the last 6 months have checked in once a week / fortnight for a Mercury and no luck. Coincidently, walked past the shop in time sq. in NYC last week and casually checked in - they had them all. Had I realised how rare the Neptune is I would have bought one, but plumped for Mercury. It looks ok on a new strap but its sadly just a plastic watch with a crystal that is easily prone to scratching. A lot of the other product in store felt better quality. But it has made me think more seriously about a 'real' speedmaster, so its brilliant marketing.
