Two, man & woman. No kids.

I want something off kilter. Not Paris, Berlin etc.

Krakow appeals but what else?

Gdansk is beautiful but I'll be divorced if I took her there

I loved Naples, scared the hell out of us on the first day, just don't blink and you'll be fine smile

Capodimonte museum, amazing architecture everywhere, great backstreets, good restaurants, best Pizza in the world.
Vesuvious brooding over everyrhing, half day trip to Pompeii if you're short of time, Caravaggio in a tiny church in San Lorenzo, Neapolitans promenading on a Sunday along the Lungomare, just a brilliant vibrant place.
When we went there was clearly huge investment goingon , I'd love to go back and see it again

Depends what you want…

Krakow has some of the best bars I’ve ever been to, massive amounts of history and is cheap as chips.

I like hostel bars, like Bruges. Similar?

The Jewish quarter is very much like that - hidden away behind unassuming doorways all over the place.

The main square is more commercial. I could’ve lost a week exploring the south by the river.

I prefer Budapest to Krakow but both are a good choice, off to Bucharest soon which doesn't seem to be as popular as the more obvious choices in central/eastern Europe.

Vilnius is supposed to be a good option if you want a historic Baltic city without the tourist crowds.

Called in to say the same thing

Mrs Loto and I had a wonderful 5 days there last year.

Loved it so much we've booked a week in Porto at the end of September.

In addition to the great suggestions above, I'd add Leon in Northern Spain as an option. Wonderful place.

I really rated Lisbon as a short break, all the trams and lifts were great fun!

Would echo Lisbon and Porto but also add Gothenburg (though beer is going to be more expensive!)

This. Loved Gdansk, Sopot and off to Wroclaw later in the year. Some really cool bars, cellar pubs and as mentioned, it's pretty cheap although the tourist tax has caught on from when I first went.

I've not been to Napoli so can't comment. Budapest is also a good shout for a 3-day break.

Some fantastic options have been mentioned. Of your original list, I'd say Krakow, but Wroclaw is great too. I'd suggest letting the flight options from your preferred airport inform your shortlist.

As someone who wants to visit both Ljubljana is bloody expensive to fly into and no direct flights to Georgia from the UK frown

Zagreb is only a short train ride to Ljubljana so that is an option
