Neighbour's car filmed
Discussion
My neighbour has caught someone filming and taking photos of their car for around 20 minutes. A lady with a small child. I have seen the footage and it does seem odd. It is an expensive car but there are lots of flashy cars in the locale amongst the dross. They are going to report to the police but wondered why someone would take such lengthy interest in car - even if it was to steal it you wouldn't want to hang around that long!

Bentley Continental. I do take a gander myself when I walk past as well but as a car person with no bad intentions. This woman was sniffing around for at least 20 minutes.
Kudos for living in a locale where your neighbour rolls a Bentley Corniche.. but therein lies the answer I suspect - I’d wager she was just an over enthusiastic enthusiast.OTOH if the subject car was Golf R Audi RS/S BMW M or Range Rover alarm bells would (and literally should) be ringing.
Bentley Corniche , whilst very desirable to some, is IMO not the sort of vehicle that the thievery by classes will target (and if they did , they would be far more discreet than the woman with the camera) ..
Nothing to worry about IMO 👍

On the other hand, who spends a full 20 mins taking photos of a car they intend to steal? A few quick snaps and done, surely?
That's the odd bit. Neighbour:- "They [woman with child in tow] stayed back and forth for almost 20 minutes, and kept taking pictures of my car. It feels like she is reporting the situation to someone, she has been recording video while calling."elanfan said:
Just how have you seen the footage OP?
They have CCTV with motion detection and also fitted an electric sliding gate. So the videoing was done from the pavement.x5tuu said:

Pointless reporting it to the police as no offence has taken place. Personally I'd just get on with my life & forget about it.RetroWheels said:

In fairness, a Bentley Corniche is more likely to be seen in an undesirable localeOTOH if the subject car was Golf R Audi RS/S BMW M or Range Rover alarm bells would (and literally should) be ringing.
