Stupid question….maybe…?

My Mrs has bought me a skid pan experience with one on one tuition for my birthday….. very nice too….. in my own car….

But it occurred to me…. Can you drive a PDK gearbox car on a skid pan and learn to control it in tail out drifts etc…..?

Car is RWD at least.

I don’t have a clue, clearly. hehe

In short yes.

I did a session at the PEC in a PDK Boxster a couple of years ago where the instructor taught me to do donuts on the low friction surface. Essentially the inner front wheel was fairly static whilst the rear was drifting. Great fun smile

You can also just put the car in manual mode too, which is what I did at the PEC

Yes sorry, forgot to mention that and of course with all the electronic trickery turned off. Basically the drift was all done on a balanced throttle, huge fun, lots of smoke and a brilliant day out.
