My wife is after a new car. Currently in a 2014 Evoque we've owned from new.
We've just tested the Mazda CX-60 PHEV which she really liked and we're also going to revisit the Lexus NX350 (both new)

Ideally she'd love a Velar as she really likes the looks of it, but there are so many nightmare stories of reliability she'd quite put off. Is this the same for the F-Pace? I know they are all under the same brand but are the 2 cars vastly different? She want PHEV ideally hence the P400e which can be picked up a year or so old within her budget. What do they also drive like and whats the real work economy and electric only mileage?

Her Evoque has been super reliable but the dealer customer service is woeful and it has so many squeaks and rattles it drives you insane. Just don't what the same if we look at the Jaguar option.

I had an F-Pace SVR for a couple of years and over 13,000 miles it never put a foot wrong. They all drive very nicely, almost saloon-like and the new interior is very, very nice.

I also found the dealer to be excellent, always trying to help and the buying experience was excellent. I called them and asked if they could do the price I was after, which they could. They then said pop in and take the demo SVR for a couple of hours (unaccompanied) and then put no pressure on to order or buy. It was very pleasant.

That being said, I wouldn’t touch a four-pot diesel with a barge pole and the same for the V6 diesels.

To me they’re the best mid-sized SUV on the road at the moment, particularly if you get it with the stonking V8!
