Friend of mine has TWO (count 'em) 964RS's - one regular Maritime Blue, one Viper Green Clubsport (i.e. stripped, race-prepped and RARE) - and one has to go. Very-low-mileage, mint, etc. He doesn't mind which one he sells. They'll be at the top end of the RS price ladder, at somewhere between £30k-£40k, but if anyone's interested let me know and I'll put youin touch with him.

Peter,

Maritime blue you say, very nice. I know some-one who would be interested in the blue one. I assume it's LHD, any more details available.

P.S. Are you at Autumn Blast with Wheeltorque next week.

Alas, having just bought a house and moved I cannot afford either the time off work or the money to do Autumn Blast - strictly a Spring thing for me, I will be there next year provided I don't have to sell my own RS to fund my extravagant lifestyle!

The Martime Blue one is a stock low mileage RS, LHD, absolutely standard I think, and very well looked after by an RS enthusiast (hence the fact that he has - count 'em - TWO RS's, the Blue one is nice but the Viper Green one is staggeringly good). I don't know the asking price, but I know it won't be cheap!

Only the one track day, at Spa with me this year, the owner's first ever and consequently driven slowly and steadily and *definitely* not abused as much as mine or yours! Not that they don't thrive on a bit of stick.

Get your contact to mail me his email address and I will pass it on and then step out of the equation. Of course, if your contact fancies a Sun Yellow one with wing, rollcage, etc and makes me a stupid offer then I might just have to sell up and come to the 'ring in my turbodiesel Golf. Which is not in the same league, but surprisingly rapid nonetheless...

Pete,

I'm seeing the guy who'd be interested Monday night. You've meet him, black 993T4 at the Ring.

He's thinking off swapping his T4 for a RS and a diesel golf.

I'll get him to contact you direct if his interested.

Jeez, you don't see an RS for sale for ages and then bang, three at once.

The third one was a mint green Clubsport with low miles, mentioned by Ninemeister (Colin) on another thread.

Much as I like the Turbo 4, getting an RS and a diesel golf sounds inspired, and a bloody good idea

In praise of the diesel Golf:

1. More torque that a Boxster S and weighs a touch less
2. Available in yellow. Mine also has a yellow interior. Trust me, it grows on you.....
3. Practical - hatchback and all that
4. Over an 8 hour journey back from Aix-en-Provence to the Eurotunnel, I averaged 88mph and 40mpg. Wow!
5. Reliable
6. Holds its' value

Now if only it handled like a Focus and didn't run out of revs so quickly, it'd be close to the perfect car.

Paulc - I remember your Turbo-4-owning friend. TVR Tuscan originally, wasn't it? Then turbo 4, (fortunately not the squashed one at the 'ring this year) and now RS. Good moves.....

After seeing the crashes at the 'ring I'm bloody glad mine has a rollcage. Have you fitted one to your silver missle, yet?

I ran a PD130 for a year and that was certainly not my experience. About 25% depreciation in fact. Also it was a rubbery soulless thing which despite good performance and economy was a complete bore after the novelty of 50+mpg wore off.

Talking of Golfs, maybe iguana could get a diesel engine fitted into his 'second car' instead of that semi-racing lump. Seems far more sensible.

(Saw your car yesterday ig - looking sorry for itself. It is obviously jealous of your new purchase .)

Further on the Maritime blue one for Paulc's turbo-4-owning-pal (and any other interested), here's the spec from an email I just got:

1. strut brace
2. matter roll cage in colour coded blue
3. colour coded harnesses (org. std. seat belts colour coded too)
4. air ducts
5. OE Porsche racing wheel
6. large petrol tank

BTW it has 24kkm.

I have some pics mailed to me as well

Pete,

No my other mate had the Tuscan before it went sideways into a road sign. He's now got a fireblade 7 which is proving evenmore unreliable than his Tuscan was!

Back to the Maritime RS, it wouldn't happen to leave around the Richmond(Surrey) area would it? If so the guy with the T4 saw it on the road the other week and was suitably impressed.

Talking of diesal other cars, it just so happens that my motorway cruiser/family transporter is a Merc C270 CDI. 270lbs of torque and 40 mpg. It will even tow the RS if needs must.

And yes I'm now fully roll-caged up thanks to Safety Devices and those nice people at 9M. I went for a full-cage, double cross-over plus door bars.

Now I remember - met him on the forecourt of the petrol station outside the 'ring and just after his 'blade had dumped oil all over the floor. Wasn't the best of trips for him I think! At least his car wasn't crushed like some poor sods who went that year. Your rollcage will be a great comfort!

Richmond isn't quite right, more Wandsworth/A3 area.
