After 4 years of marriage and 2 year separation I got a decree nisi back in 2012.
Applied for the absolute in 2012 and was asked for full financial disclosure. Both my wife and myself had already agreed on a financial settlement and mistakenly believed that the nisi meant we were divorced so we didn't bother pursuing the absolute.
She now wishes to remarry and needs the absolute. I am aware that we need to apply for this with a supporting document and an explanation for the delay but wondered if anyone else here has had a similar experience or can give any advice on how to proceed.
We are both very content with our lives and have no financial interest in each others work, pensions or property. There are no children from this relationship.
