Just arrived home too a lovely letter from my local Constabulary.
A NIP for doing 39 in a 30.
Is this likely too result in a court appearance or just points & a fine?
No excuses. I took a short cut to work on a road I haven’t used for 5/6 years.
Thought it was a 40 limit. Turns it wasn’t.

Assuming England, a speed awareness course may be offered:

Makes your wonder how familiar you need to be with a road to be aware of the speed limits in force?A NIP for doing 39 in a 30.

Plenty of places these days where the road was designed for a 40mph limit so everything about it says 40 apart from the speed limit signs.
Post of the year (so far) for me!
I liked it too. Everything about it says you can drive down there apart from the no entry signs.BertBert said:

OP, well worth doing the SAC, very useful section on recognising the speed limit when you haven't seen a sign.
