Is the Toyota Yaris 2023 a cool car for a 20 year old?
Discussion
Yes, kinda cool, but you know what I always find even cooler for young lads, is to see them driving round in a mint example of something from the 1980’s.
There’s a young ‘un near me who drive a very tidy Renault 5, another one in a mk3 Ford Escort Estate, and another in a very clean Austin Montego.
All very mundane cars at the time, but now all kinda cool IMO.

You know what would be really cool...
Hunting for a low mileage Yaris MK1/ MK2 and getting a bargain on a well looked after car from an elderly owner that has loved it for X amount of years for peanuts and saying to yourself every time you drive it "I can't believe I paid that little, for such a good car".
If you want something fun, you could look for a MK2 Yaris 1.8 SR which is a tidy handling warm hatch, or even a MK1 T Sport, that is about the most respected Yaris you can get other than a GR.
All the options above would cost buttons to run, even the 1.8 SR.
With the money saved you could actually be cool and use the money to go on holidays, visit places or save it, invest it etc.
However, if you do want a nearly new car, a 2020 Yaris won't make you cool, it is a white goods vehicle, but if a newish car is a priority, then there are worse choices.

Basically I have the option of a VW POLO, Audi A1 or a Yaris, I myself love the look of the Yaris the most, but most people my age would argue the Audi and VW Polo are cooler
If you love the look of the Yaris, go for the Yaris. Why spend money on a car that other people prefer? No idea what 20 year old girls find cool, but my guess would be that a Yaris isn’t one of them. Or maybe any car.
What I do know, having driven one, is that the horrible hybrid engine/gearbox combo would make we wish I’d bought almost any other car. Unless I had side hustle as an Uber / Uber Eats / Deliveroo driver.
