Green Light Re Pod
Discussion
Okay everyone,
Both Paul(unrepentant) and I are sorry re the delay, but we have now been given the ok to go public.
A couple of weeks ago after months of badgering, we were invited to Blackpool to see their solution to the "pod blindness".
Whilst there we would have the new part fitted to enable us to road test for them and report back.
This we have duly done.
The delay since was to enable Blackpool to ensure the new part was available for all, and to ensure that all dealers were advised re fitment. And of course they had to make sure that us as customers were satisfied.
The solution in the end was simple but effective. A new green tinged front screen which after testing is absolutely fine.
This takes about an hour to fit and all owners should be advised imminently by letter.
Sorry to have been secretive but we have done as we were asked, and I think this has been for the best in the long run.
By showing patience TVR have taken on board our concerns and have acted in getting the pod right without changing the aesthetics of the dash. A shouting match wouldnt have got us far I am sure.
You should all hear soon. If not I would suggest contacting your dealers as they should now, or shortly be aware of the fix.
Great thanks are due to Paul who has campaigned vigourously alongside me, and to Emma and Heath particularly at the factory who have assisted us over the last months.
Good luck everyone and enjoy being able to actually see how fast you are going.

I've driven around for 2 weeks with the new screen now and it's fine. The black numbers show up very clearly on the pale green background. I drove in very bright sunshine with the roof off on the Sunday after it was fitted and, even with the sun in my face and my shades on, it was clear. The only circumstances in which it is still difficult to see is when a very low setting sun is directly in your face. But you can't see much in those circumstances!
Well done TVR. We had a problem - they listened and they solved it.

Positive news.
The only concern being April, May, June, July, August, for quite a simple? fix.
Bodes well.

I have been told that many alternatives had been considered, namely changing the whole dash, reverting to the 350/Sagaris white dials, or going back to the original set up. Granted, it should never have been released in the 1st place, but I think we should give TVR some credit for taking the time to get it right second time around.
From their point of view, they obviously had to consider the most cost effective answer whilst also not upsetting owners who like the current pod.
I for one am glad the issue is sorted without changing the layout that I like so much.
got the car back today, been to the seaside to have aircon fixed, trim fixed, gearbox fixed, DAB fixed and new pod came out just in time.
taken with a flash cos i's p1$$ing down hence slight glare in corner, if you flashed the old pod you saw nothing at all
thanks to Lady T and unrepentant for their efforts.
