For 22/23 I think this is no longer available for people who have the option to work in an office but instead choose to WFH. This applies to my 9-5 situation.

However in addition to standard employment I have a very small business which I report income and expenses on via tax return. I do this from home.

I declare revenue which is >£1000 however for the expenses I have claimed the £1000 notional value as my costs were below this. I believe this is the trading allowance.

My question is whether the £6/wk expenses would apply for my micro business as I do not have an office to work in, or whether this is part of the trading allowance assumption.

At the moment I have assumed I am not entitled to the £6/wk but would like to hear from other likeminded people on their views. Fairly small beer either way!

If you claim the £1K trading allowance, then you can't claim any other expenses, including the £6 per week.

Thanks for the response - seems reasonable, and is what I assumed. Thanks again
