A drive through the Mikawa mountains
Discussion
A friend and I went for a drive through the Mikawa mountains to Yahagi Dam recently. This is just some raw Japanese countryside driving footage.
The Oku-Yahagi Sakura Road is an old hashiriya (racer) route for the Toyota/Nagoya people during the 90s - early 2000s - as touted by colleagues and some of my local racer friends. These days it's not quite so hardcore but I do see the occasional cars/bikes blasting through here. The road traces the edge of the dam's lake and is a series of tight turns weaving along the water's edge. If you've driven in Japan you might be aware of the nasty cat's eyes the local highway agencies install to deter people from crossing into oncoming traffic, hitting these at speed could obliterate a wheel; this road, like many others, is full of them. That aside, it's quite a beautiful drive and a route I often take to detox from city life.

Top stuff, thank you for sharing. Your car sounds awesome.
Next trip to Japan I must try to get out to some more rural places, I have only ever been the cities.
I love how green and lush it looks, and how mountainous.
That road is begging for a Lotus Elise or two.
