…or is it all brewed under license by associate breweries in the uk?

I always thought Becks Vier was authentically German, turns out that’s not the case.

Am I missing something?

Plenty of places up here in Scotland sell the real deal, in beer hall type establishments. Only one of my normal pubs has it though - Furstenburg on draft. Imported.

Plenty of craft beer places have 'real' German beers.

I was going to say the Rothaus UK website showed where sold their beer but doesn't seem to anymore ( https://www.blackforestbeers.co.uk/ )

Lowenbrau is still brewed in Germany but I have only seen it on draught in a few places, although my local does have erdinger on tap.

You can also still find a few German brewed lagers in our supermarkets.

I was in the pub the other day with an array of the poncier lagers at the pumps, my mate had an Asahi and I commented that it was Italian, the barman overhead and took great pleasure in knocking me back by saying it's actually Japanese, my "Yes, but brewed in Italy" was the perfect foil biggrin

Aye, I've seen Erdinger on draft at a few places as well.

If you get a Heineken Blade, a lot of the lagers on there are the proper versions rather than the brewed under license in the UK versions.

Love the Chip but only a few pints of Furstenburg as it's strong to drink on a session.
